What is therapy? What can I expect?
People come to therapy for a lot of different reasons. It’s a place for you to address things like identity and life transitions, trauma/PTSD, relationship issues, mental health concerns, grief, loss, substance use, difficulties managing medical issues, and other life stressors. Ultimately, therapy is a space where you can explore your emotions and feelings freely and openly in a safe and supportive environment.
Sessions are typically 60 minutes long on a weekly basis. I currently offer remote sessions only.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Anyone can benefit from therapy. But therapy is also a journey. You can come into this with little expectation, try a few sessions, and then see how you feel. If it’s helping or you at least feel heard, then great! If we’re not the right fit, that’s okay too. We can talk about it and I would be happy to recommend another therapist that fits your needs.
How much does therapy cost? Do you take insurance?
My out-of-pocket fee is $200 per session. Sliding-scale is available on a limited basis.
